What’s the best EMP proof motorcycle?

Recommended Posts

While I’ve been away from the forums here at Survivalcache for a few months.

Been searching for a EMP proof motorcycle.

Ive looked at different makes & models from 2 & 4 strokes.

All enduros or trail/dirt bikes.

Still haven’t purchased a bike yet.

Ive looked at Honda’s & Yamaha 230 cc , Husquarna 250 cc, KTM 300 cc & Honda 650 cc.

Im not a newbie into riding motorcycles & owned road bikes from the early 1970’s to the mid 80’s

Bikes that I’ve owned or riden are ( Yamaha RD 400 Daytona Special 2 stroke, RZ 350 , Kawasaki H2 750 tripple 2 stroke, Suzuki GSXR 750  & Yamaha VMax 1200 cc ).

My question is to fellow owners of dirt/ enduro bike riders / owners , what would you consider is the best EMP proof bike out there?

I’m all ears, & thanks in advance for all information given.

A tall order all I know is it either needs to be stored in a Faraday cage or have little to no electronic parts and if so you need to have spares in a EMP proof can and have a way to cut off the battery when you park it or if struck the voltage surge can burn out bulbs coil and electronics as well they need a kick start in case the electric starter goes bad.

From your post you have mechanical skills so a rebuild kit or few or a 2nd non running for spare parts not commonly available from parts stores. I think any model from the 70's  in the 250CC range as the power and torque and speed  weight ratio  would allow for the most riding flexibility in all terrain I recall the Honda Elsinore was a beast for it's availability for it size and weight I had a Yamaha and the 2 stroke pump failed and toasted the motor I would also eliminate any pump and premix fuel.

Some of the op performers were Bultaco BSA  Honda Husqverna  The Honda was the most available the world over so IMO I would look for the largest seller with most availability of parts and information I do recall CZ and Ducati but I'd be willing to bet parts are rare to impossible to find for most of these.

Not that you could get one, they are not easy to find at all, but the M1030M1 Marine scout bike would be an interesting choice. Not sure if the are hardened in any way or not....otherwise an older bike, gravity feed fuel system, kick start only, 4 cycle or premix, Dynamo over alternator basicly no electronics even lights. You might even think about the old "mini bike" with the Brigs and Stratton engines that were rather common when I was a kid.

My thoughts over the weeks in my research, their is no best EMP motorcycle out there for the masses.

The best way to over come an EMP attack, is to have spare electronic parts in a  EMP proof cage/container for what ever type of vehicle you might have.

Well this will be my answer to it.

I like 2 stroke motorcycles so that’s what I’ll be looking to get.

Purchased a 1994 Yamaha XT 225 cc 4 stroke ,enduro / dual sport bike about a month ago.

It was a rare find, considering it had only 408 kms on the odometer,

the original owner rode it for one summer, then stored it for 24 years.

The bike looks brand new for its age.

I also managed to get a hold of some spare parts for the bike from another purchase.

Extra CDI , starter motor & battery. All stored in a EMP cage. Not battery..

All for under $2,000 Canadian funds.

I hope this bike will serve me well when a EMP arrives.

The simplest answer is an old mini bike, one with a magneto fired brigs and Stratton engine....but these are actually harder to find and more costly than one would think for as many of them were around when I was a kid, but any magneto fired bike would be a good start as they are as simple of an electric system as there is and the components are very durable.

Mini bikes are great on gasoline consumption, my view of them is that they lack the height clearance if one is heading into the woods, if their is a path / trail then your fine, not so easy to move around if one is heading into virgin bush forest areas.

One of the areas I enjoy heading into Canada is Crown Land, where I’ll see at most is  about 1/2 a dozen folks in there, & that’s on a gravel road at best.

Most people don’t dare going deep into uncharted areas of Crown Land,  that’s where I like going to explore the wilds of the land.

No humans to deal with , just me & Mother Nature.

From my evaluation of things , a dirt bike / dual sport / enduro motorcycle would be best suited to the terrain.

Oh ATV’s will not cut it, deep in the heart of Crown Land / The Queens Land .

In my guesstimation, less than 1 % of the Canadian population actually know where Crown Land is.

Their are no-posted signs stating that your in Crown Land & I like it that way.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same "mini bike" These are NOT very capable compared to an actual  motocross or enduro...just so extremely simple that for post EMP you are likely to get somewhere...eventually, or at better than walking.

Yes, even the one that your talking about , would run in a post EMP, but I’m wondering how fast could a mini bike actually go?? I’d say 30 MPH at best. Then the Zombie/Snowflake masses one must avoid, & out run. I’d would want something  to go a little faster with the noise output from a mini bike.

If it’s noisy I’d want something fast, to me anything doing slower than 50 mph would not cut it. My own personal logic, but then I’m just a dummy, what do I know about EMP’s , haven’t experienced one yet in my life . All I know is that it’s going to be a game changer for the masses when it does happen.

And I want the  cards stacked in my favour, that’s why I prep.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I have faith, hope & guidance from my GOD.

The GOD of Moses. Amen!

    • Here is why I love Paul Joseph Watson Toxic masculinity versus mommy's boys ? So your a woman and have a child with a appendage we can't call it a wiener anymore, do you really want a 30 something man living in your basement and crying on your shoulder all the time ? Gillette has a commercial that is so offensive and ridiculous that any man who ever buys a product from them need to be castrated. I have shaved with a straight razor since I started growing whiskers and I don't use soap foam or gel just water, I don't see where I need to have as much or more room than my female cohabitant for beauty supplies ! And my other hero Jordan Peterson Here is another good video from Tomi
    • Animals are complicated and yes I can see where any animal could be a support animal, here is the kicker all animals are unpredictable and like people have good days and bad days. So let me just say I'll pass on meeting  wally, I may piss him off because I know I have eaten one of his family members and Wally may not like that. besides people have been attacked by their pets like mice rats gerbils cats and dogs much less anything with more teeth. Emotional support alligator
    • Another fine mess,  Asteroids are smacking Earth twice as often as before, and that reminds me of Revelation 8:10- 12 -- 10 Then the third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven and landed on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter like wormwood oil, and many people died from the bitter waters. 12 Then the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun and moon and stars were struck. A third of the stars were darkened, a third of the day. I'm not saying that this event is close but who knows what or how many are the precursors to this event, if it is like a woman in labor as the Biblical narrative describes it will increase exponentially until the end, that in the face of all the increases of fire, flood, famine, earthquakes and astrological events reminds me of Luke 21:26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. as recently as a few years ago a large asteroid passed between the earth and the moon or as they call it a near miss, and NASA or anyone else spotted it before it was right on top of us, so for all of you who think science and technology can save us until we build a solar sail or anchoring rockets to attach to space threats it just is going to be a bad day for some of us IMO.
    • Lmao Protests, a punch thrown and provocative jokes as Louis C.K. performs in San Jose. Louis C.K. became one of the biggest stories in the #metoo movement in 2017, after he was accused of sexual misconduct, and admitted to masturbating in front of female comics. After stepping away from the spotlight, he began performing again in New York last year, generating more controversy for his comedy, including a set in late December that appeared to mock survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting. The protest was organized by Enough is Enough Voter Project. Micheal Dauber, one of the protestors pointed out that San Jose Improv has acts booked through May, with no female headliners listed, “That speaks volumes,” Dauber said. Louis CK is not that funny to make a living off comedy he is just another jerk  IMO
    • The earthquake portion of the leading quotation of this post is working overtime. A micro earthquake struck early this morning in Malibu, where residents are already dealing with heavy rainfall and mudslides Thursday. A 2.8 earthquake was reported at 12:35 a.m. at a depth of just over one mile, with an epicenter just a few miles inland from Point Dume, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. For the second morning in a row, East Bay residents were jolted out of bed by an earthquake.  Wednesday morning's 3.4-magnitude quake hit at 4:42 a.m. Three small aftershocks followed: a 1.9-magnitude at 4:45 a.m., a 2.0 at 4:48 a.m., and a 1.1 at 8:52 a.m, centered near Piedmont and the Oakland hills along the Hayward Fault. The USGS pinpointed the epicenter near the intersection State Route 24 and Tunnel Road.
