Problem solving storage space in a safe or elsewhere

Recommended Posts

I had to many loose metal items in the safe and really no room I happened on some neodymium / powerful magnets only 1/2X1/2 and 1/8th inch thick stuck against the back wall inside top or sides of your safe any metal object will remain stuck to it until you pull it off. So there is no need to waste shelf space and they stay stuck to the wall and not the item larger stronger can hold a rod place them and spray glue a thin sheet of leather so it will not scratch and you can put them any where as long as it is against metal inside the doors walls behind the lip of the door on the outside even.

I was considering getting a piece of 1/4 inch plywood arrange the magnets behind use some liquid nails and stick it to the wall a few screws to hold it and have an invisible magnetic tool holder under the desk some of these can hold many pounds easily the tiny ones I have can hold 8 pounds no common mag loaded weights 8 pounds except drums  and a few could hold that.

just a thought.

Great catch TPSnodgrass a second safe doubles your chances of keeping some of your stuff in case of a break in.

There are so many tricks that I would love to share but once they are out there everyone know.

Magnets are superfantastic items and can hold hundreds of pounds then there are magnetic locks that can be scrounged from old vehicles that operate on 12 volt.  source a bit of work you can shorten drawers and pace in a false back so even if the drawer is pulled out looking back there is nothing to be seen. certain lamps whos base is substantial enough magnets can hold an object in no matter if it is tossed as long as the material it is made of is not breakable, and even that can be addressed. Trash cans are another good object to modify drapes etc.

The size of what you may want to "store" is the only parameter from TP roller to adapted furniture. Of course there are all manner of cans bottles and other items that can be bought that are caches for items candles are a hoot and who the hell steals candles.
