someone who gave up

Recommended Posts

Bugout is a term it does not need to be defined you can take what you need it may be a sorrowful moment but we may all have to dump and run.

this person may need to look at this instead of a negative but as a good excuse to go out on days off, thinking of escaping or surviving a disaster is depressing !

I prep because I live in hurricane region and if I have to light out I can go to a park and camp until things return to normal if I  can get to a few places I just do not want to be a burden and have personal grooming and enough to get by a few weeks and at all the places I can hunt fish and relax.

I would like to tell this person RELAX have renters insurance people in life forget to look for free stuff to do in town some places are way better for activities when your life sucks try volunteering at a shelter old folks home food pantry lots of times you get a free meal and try to get someone else to smile and get out of there problems there are churches that have dinner on the grounds game nights bible studies and you get to know others in the area.

I heard the PTSD reference if you concentrate on self it will drag you down if you feel alone it will make you depressed if your sick it will make you worse disabled same same so you have to attack the problem with an opposite reaction bars are vacuous souls sucking monsters to a person with pressure or depression.  Self help LOL if you could help yourself you would be well / happy already.  I have had everything happen  people have died suicide etc etc all I have to say is get off the cross we need the wood I Am alive and there is a life out there it may not be perfect but neither am I.  I am not perfect I do not expect others to be either I try to take them as they come and try to make them smile or at least get the ping pong ball back to them out of it all I have made some great NEW friends that ask me to go hunting fishing camping to games etc we go out to eat now and again you do not have to be wealthy just willing we all watch our dollars so we do breakfast at most 5 bucks and a whole lot of laughs  IMHO this is the good life.

Um Yeah. I really don't have any thing positive to say about this video (it's pretty lame) or about this guy's ideas. IMO, he's on YouTube posting this becasue he needs to justify he sad excuses and wants special snowflake support for his crappy decision. Oh and boo-hoo on moving five times. LOL. Yeah. I've moved like 19 times since 2000 if you count the apartments as well as houses before and during marriage.

When my husband I began prepping in 2012 (we're newbies) granted we owned a house, but it was smack in the middle of suburbia. Did we give up? No. We decided to do the best few day, few weeks, and few months of preps possible. Then we learned about long-term preps. We prepped our cars, my husband prepped his flight bags (he's a pilot), I prepped the diaper bag, and we prepped our home. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, we SET GOALS!!!

One of which was to move to a place with more land.

Now that we have moved (four years later) onto an acreage, we will start to implement these long-term preps. Does this cost money, yes it does. But what I have found is that if you're storing foods you don't eat on a regular basis, then YES you are wasting money. You store what you eat already and you cycle through it.

You hunt on Craigslist and at Good Will for deals on tools and the like. Maybe you don't buy the newest and best firearms, but you start somewhere. Shoot our shot-gun we bought used...because that's what we had to do.

Also, he sounds like a single guy with no kids. I wager a guess that if he had a family of little ones or a spouse relying on him, he'd rethink this plan to not give a rip.

And, lame-o excuse for not prepping a BOB. Because "I have no where to go???" He's in stinkin' NH! There's plenty of places to go! Also he clearly doesn't understand the concept of BOBs, if he's worried about three carloads of crap to BO with.

Sigh.

Too bad your not my neighbor i would laugh myself silly.

Well...I was feeling a little stabby when I wrote that. Newborn baby is three weeks old and it's been an uphill battle getting her to adjust to life outside in the world. Not much sleep...my patience wears thin.

I no longer have the "patience" to deal with those who make excuses/justifications/rationalization for their personal stupidity. I just don't have the emotional investment to care what happens to them and their closest people, because of their innate selfishness.

Mommy, you are not "stabby" at all, pragmatic? Absolutely.  That's a GOOD thing, for you and your family. Keep at it and never look back.

Never be afraid or concerned about burning the bridges you need to burn FOR the well-being of yourself and family.

Unsolicited-philosophical-rant is now off.

Lately, I've been seeing a number of modern "zombies" that come into the ER where I work. The "zombie" moniker, I give them, refers to their absolute dependence upon their prescription mind altering drugs that they "MUST" have in order to function.

These are the modern-day "zombies" I believe that we will all have to deal with at some point in our cumulative "times". Of course, I AM being entirely subjective based solely upon my own personal and professional experiences.

Many of these people are carrying (illegally of course) deadly weapons, to include knives(the majority), and firearms with which to commit their predatory acts while "under the influence" of their chosen street or prescribed pharmaceutical.

It is disgusting to me, that in the geographical area where I now reside, so many people are culturally accepting of this significant number of "prescribed addicts" and their predatory and manipulative behavior.

The majority are on Social Security Disability, receive free medical care(drugs), live in Federally subsidized housing, and have EBT cards, etc. with all of the other societal freebies they have become entirely dependent (and expectant) upon.

I've had a number of them tell me to my face, that I "owe them" because I have more than they do, at least that is their perception in their drug-fueled state.

Of course I have "more", I'm not urinating my hard earned money away on drugs, booze etc. so I can sit back and collect other people's money.(Thank you, Margaret Thatcher-"...the problem with Socialism, is that sooner or later, you run OUT of other people's money..."

Those who choose to give up, and turn butt up in submission to the predators and Slave Masters of the World, in my opinion, deserve precisely what they get.

Best to all, congratulations Mommy (and Daddy Liberty) on the new little one. Stay safe, all, check your rear constantly to see who is following you (check Six), and go out into the world with a smile on your face, and a plan to kill everyone you meet.(advice from a now retired law enforcement mentor and trainer)

I remember that infant syndrome sleep deprivation  the smell of dirty diapers zombie feedings in the wee hours of the morning, Smell of desynex baby powder and always out of formula or breast milk and that is with a healthy baby !  I recall asking my S.O to crank out some breast milk and I got one of those looks. Oh I know there were some great times I was just too tired to remember any of them.

Then there was teething potty training terrible twos not much better threes pre K Kindergarten only half days dog gone it. the terrible teens well if you do not have children go stay with someone who just had one and do a test drive as it is not like you can give them back ---- well I hear now you can drop them off at a fire station ? I never figured that one out shouldn't you return it where you got it from like Wal-mart return to the hospital it should have a return slot like returning a VHS or DVD movie ---- right !

I am not too old for the gene pool I just am not interested in raising a baby, too old and set in my ways and I love peace and quiet or watching Godzilla at 3AM,   comedies put me right to sleep.......

It's notable you point out the addicts. I was watching Patriot Nurse a year or two ago on YouTube and she also pointed out that the drug addicts (prescription pills included) will be the ones to likely go crazy, get violent, and need to be "stopped." Up until she said that, I had never even thought of it.

It also falls in line with my learning about self defense with firearms and how a hyped up druggie may not be stopped by certain small calibers.
