How's the Weather in your area lately.

Recommended Posts

I live in southern Ontario, Canada.

Yesterday we had freezing rain & snow, which brought down hydro lines in some areas here.

Tree branches were torn off & on the streets in some places. There was about a 1/2 inch of ice that I needed to remove, which took me 3 hour to clear my driveway & car. Surely the worst winter weather I've come to experience in my life time so far. So how Is the weather in your neck of the woods.

Air temp-average: 24 degrees Farenheit

SMOGGY-not kidding

Location: just a bit north of Salt Lake City, Utah

WHY am I still here with this snow and cold weather? (grandkids)

Where i live, at this time of year it should be 15-20 centigrades below zero. Insted it is 4-5 above!!

The wether is totally freeaked out!

It is normal to have winter storms, but this year we have had two a week for the last two months.

By the way, anybody who knows what happened to the forum?

I hope everybody have had a peaceful Cristmas and that You and your family stay safe and sound in the new year!

OMG, It's  " - 20 C or - 4 F " outside where I live. Add in the wind shield factor, & it feels like minus 30 C or colder. Time to put on a pair of long johns. Some folks in Toronto still don't have hydro, it' been over a week for them now.

High 30s, expect some kind of "precipitation" coming in from the West Coast later this evening and for the next four days, before it heads East or South.

Hopefully, it will blow the crappy smog (locals REFUSE to call it that) out of the Wasatch Front of Utah with the storms coming in. Nothing like being able to see, taste and touch the air one breathes in here.

LA  lower Alabama that is .... low 30's with freezing rain or snow depending on where you are.  Ice on power lines and possibly on bridges .... not a time to be on the road as very few have the right tires or knowhow to be out on icy roads.  Many areas have shut down all except emergency travel.   Should be back to the normal nasty weather in a couple of days but who knows...could have a repeat as the weather maker over the great plains seems to keep on giving & giving & giving.   Know everyone from the Dakotas across to the east coast are wishing for some relief....hope they get some soon.

1/7/2015  It's BACK  Presently it is blowing and in the low 30s and headed to the high teens with wind chill making it at bit rough unless you got the right gear.  Forecast is for this to move through and warm for the rain to start in a few days.  Like Texas if you don't like the weather give it a day or two and likely you will like it even less.  Had some nice days....clear with light breeze but doing down hill at the moment.

You all stay safe and warm if you can.

Global warming is about to freeze us to death in South East Texas. We have had more snow this winter than in the previous 20 all combined! We have had to winter storm warnings in the last week. Sleet, Snow and black ice is just not in our vocablary down here! LOL. I know, all you snow birds think its silly for us to get excited about a couple inches of snow. You have to realize, these fools don't have a clue about how to drive on ice!! The schools closed, The public services like garbage didn't run and The State told their people that except for essential personel, everyone needed to stay home.

I guess it is what you are accostumed to. Those of you that think it is silly...now you know how I feel when people up north start calling 100 degree temps to be a heat wave and start telling people to stay inside. We had a week of 115 a few years ago and never slowed down. It's all about what you are used to and prepared for. We are NOT prepared for this! LOL I did get to make a snow guy with my grandbaby though and that was worth a lot. The last one for me was 34 years ago. THAT is how long we go between snows that stick and stay down here.

if its the size of BB's we call it sleet...

I was being facetious we do not get much sleet I went to a local joint and had some coffee & grits and while me and some locals were

beating the air with our gums our vehicles were frozen over on one side I had to let her run for about 15 minutes before it was

warm enough to melt the ice.

It's as cold as a well diggers BUTT in the Klondike I for one will be glad when this cook spell has moved on.

Here is where I post to readers that if you think you can survive ninja rolling in the snow guess again here we have very little snow but

I have spoken with many Northerners and they have don't like our cold either as mostly it is wet and wind blowing  just enough

to cut through what most people think is winter clothing.

that is going to be one of many problems should our country goes through a situation, it would very much depend on what season

as to the survival equation.

I have been in - 60 to 130 degrees and there are no escapes from either If I can postulate here I KNOW why our population has increased

so dramatically in the last 60 years --- cheap convenient and delivered oil gas coal propane and natural gas as well as improved farming and

ranching equipment and techniques if and that is a BIG IF we go down a road of either self destruction or it is imposed on us from our enemies

look for a loss of life of 50% or more in 90 days.

War is not all that can happen imagine a blackout in the midwest this last couple of weeks as was refereed too in above posts.

That is why over time here I have posted that same thought I see a scenario that could produce results as this and it is staring us in the face

but political correctness is stopping anyone from doing anything about it.

So I hold my breath and hope it does not happen the way I envisioned it most people think of war I know that is always a possibility but it does not

have to be,

We are a very deluded society we think we can "DO IT" Well It has been over 25 years and AIDS/HIV is still here the common cold still kills

apparently Cruise lines cannot control the little beasties that have almost drove them out of business.

many of us are old enough to remember BEFORE all this when there was no HIV/AIDS mass illness on the high seas.

It may not be THE BIG ONE it may just be the one we can't see coming.

One of the fears early on was that HIV/AIDS would become airborne even if it were  curable any disease has the initial threat of being a global killer.

Fukashima has displace an area about 40 to 60 miles circumference on an Island that can lest afford the loss of land mass.

all it takes are a handful of events that are already going on toss in some natural and man made disasters and the elements are all there.

weather can and will be a key factor if it is warm people travel or can move when it is cold they are forced together as in airports.

and a in 48 hours a pandemic.

Or maybe nothing and that is what I pray for NOTHING we are already facing down the barrel of a loaded gun we do not need any complications.

Without modern drugs a lot of the old killers will return. My Grandfather was 37 and in the prime of his life when he refereed a bi-district football game in the cold rain. He got sick, it went to pneumonia and he died. In 1925 one of the leading cause of deaths was syphilis. Penicillin knocked it out. Without modern medicines cold can be a killer. Warm can mean the same thing. In the south malaria will again raise iys ugly head.

We have become basically immune to the effects of the weather because of our Ac/Heating and medicines. Weather controlled populations with famine and weather related disease. They say now that the insanity of the witch hunts may have been related to a series of warm damp winters that allowed Rye to mold. This mold is basically LSD!!! Warm winters mean more rats and more rats led to the plague!!

Also for those that live near the coast. Imagine not ever knowing if that next storm that you see is the leading edge of a hurricane!! We do well now in part because we have some warning before the big storms get here. Imagine if Katrina had been a SURPRISE!!!

weather has been pretty good last couple days, but they are forecasting 7 to 11 inches of snow for Tuesday night. I say bring it on. At least the temperature will be around normal and not -10 F ! I cant wait for spring to get here so I can do some camping, fishing and gold prospecting. I got a few new spots to check out and cant wait till spring floods are over to get my shovel dirty!

without modern drugs many could not live for more than a few days and some would be so racked with pain that they would be very dangerous

modern science has not only lengthened life but by helping people live with much less pain without these people would go maniacal.

It is bad enough when the temperature rises people go nuts now add in pain and peoples fuses will be very short.

I'm still COLD and getting REAL tired of it!! We've had more freeses than I ever remember. We have had a lot of winters where we never had a real freeze. I rememer one year that in May or June I went to a ladies house to work on a Fridge and on each side of her porch there were these STRANGE looking plants. They looked like midget palm trees about 4' tall. I asked her what they were. I am sort of into plants and rarely see something that I don't recognize.

It was a collard plant...you know like collard greens! The plant was two and a half years old and she would just pop of the lower leaves and let it keep growing. Collards are anuals and don't usually live several years. A series of warm winters and cool (for us) summers had let them just keep growing. This has been a mega-strange winter so far!

hell here a lot of the old killers are dealing the drugs OH I SEE yes your very correct and drugs are keeping many alive

should there be an interruption in medications many would die from simple issues like blood pressure asthma diabetes etc.

and it would exacerbate issues like thyroid etc etc health is a daisy chain once one thing goes wrong it seems as if others follow.

and how many times have people we know have had to use antibiotics for an infection consider probably 1/2 of those would die

without them.

Birth control seems simple but people get pregnant during bad times as well as in good times, and children would die

Oxygen there are many people that depend on it so there goes the grandparents and older people will be grumpy as hell

no more viagra or cialias.

this is scary the more I think about it. LMAO.....

and your right again technology in weather forecasting has saved many lives I would not worry about moldy rye bread I hear the

government is going to legalize that as well as LSD.

keep posting all good stuff

    • here is the survival coupons codes to get a amazing material of survival struggling
    • Hey all, This is sort of cool (okay really cool) and maybe some of you have heard about it because it's been plastered over FOX and mentioned by POTUS as well as other conservative-leaning news people (Huckabee, Diamond/Silk, Candace Owens, Mark Levin, etc..) and politicians. #walkaway is a movement based mostly on social media. Started last year, by Brandon Straka (pronounced Strawk - like "straw" with a "k"). He's a former 2016 HRC-voting hair stylist, from NE, now in NYC, homosexual, liberal who began to question the MSM and what he was hearing. He got really frustrated as he began to do his own research. Anyway, after having his own awakening to the lies of MSM he had been following, he began an online testimonial campaign in which former liberals can post their #walkaway stories, written or video. Many are now on the "Trump Train." Many have simply left the Left. Still, others have always been non-Left and are members in support. The amazing thing is how many different people from all walks of life are beginning to wake up. Lots are not conservative on all issues, but all have a love for the USA and dislike the demonization of open political and social thinkers and speakers. This group gives solace to people scared to voice their conservative opinions or views for fear of negative professional or personal responses. It now has budding smaller groups in all 50 states and an online discussion group where people discuss current topics or issues (WITH no vitriol, gasp).  Here's the original video from Brandon.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=51UGcghHZsk This man, Brandon has a unique, stylish, well-articulated voice to help move people "in hiding" out into the open and not be silenced. Pretty much any video Brandon does is great. Here is the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/OFFICIALwalkawaycampaign/ As I see fights erupt online, I simply leave #walkaway in the comments. Brandon has a goal of 1 million members! The liberal media has called this campaign "Russian Bots" and "paid actors." It's not!!!
    • thanks to all who  have served or are serving our great country....243 years in the making....   Trump did a good job today thanking each branch of our military and a long time coming salute to the coast guard too....
    • I can imagine food prices going up this Fall or Winter. Corn is used for live stock feed, & us humans consume a lot of corn based products, as well as corn based biofuel. I’ve been keeping a watchful eye on the mid-west of America, which is flooded by water. Where corn  & other crops are normally grown there. Farmers are quite worried about this years growing season. Time to stock up on extra food if you can, if you haven’t already. Stack it high, stack it deep. Store the foods that you normally eat. What ever the  amount of food you’ve stored,  try to double it if possible. Better extra safe, than sorry.
