Reading Material In BOB?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, my question to you is, what reading material would you pack in your BOB and why? Is it for information? Entertainment? Spiritual purposes? To keep you sane or to keep you alive?

For me I'd like to keep a copy of the Holy Bible in my bag. I've heard the SAS Survival Guide by Collins Gern is a great book to have although I've never read it.

The other book I had in mind was The Modern Survival Manual by Fernano "Ferfal" Aguirre which has a lot of great information about situational awareness, general survival and combat skills.

Well, everyone has agreed that a survival manual is a sound choice, and the SAS is available in a sharp, "pocket" size. I know. I just bought it. Came by way of royal mail last week, lol. A New Testament is a good choice too. The U.S. Army survival field manual is available as a phone app for free so are Bibles if you believe you can keep your phone powered in your scenario.

A pocket New Testament and old and one of my notebooks that I have compiled much information on many subjects also Magic and medicine of plants it has many identifying pictures and uses other than and as food.

If it were possible I would convert all my information to 64 GB sd cards and a couple of phones and put them in a EMP proof container with a solar charger --- I like my movies music and PDF information I have most all the military manuals Navy dive survival hunt trap cure save food that would probably weight a hundred pounds on their own, and numerous movies.

If people love royalty free movies g to  https://archive.org/     non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.

I may be able to fit my books into a 55 gallon drum and none are for entertainment.

a 20 gallon tote may hold all my CDs/DVDs and then hard drives flash drives MMSD cards.

duplicates of everything hard drives and flash drives are not100% reliable.

The one thing omitted on most lists is PAPER I always have a stack of spiral notebooks on hand and good ink pens carpenters pencils and felt markers if the lights go out all you can do then is mark everything down.

When you planted bred animals where you found wild edibles water wells water make maps use for scoring games like cards etc light fires coated with wax you can "candle"  and effected ear.

Reminds me if you take a glass better one with a neck heat it in scalding hot water or a flame on the end of a stick inside you made a suction device also called "CUPPING" so if your stung or bitten have a boil or abscess this is the best way to draw it out as pinching picking and digging can lead to severe infections,  Old glass soda bottles were gradually heated so as not to bust them, creates a lot of suction.
