10 Rules for Trading in Long Term Survival Scenarios

Recommended Posts

interesting

1 there is law it is the law of the gun

2 partially true but a thing around you today will be gone as people will scrounge anything and everything

3 although it is true to break down things into small amounts then you defeat the purpose by exposing yourself numerous times.

4 people will kill you for the shoes on your feet so this information is limited

5 capturing the MIDDLE MAN and torturing them until the tell of the site of the golden fleece is not uncommon.

6 go to other parts of the city now that is great in Mexico there are 20 gangs in 20 blocks talk about running the gauntlet.

7 cigarets beer and coffee are not cheap if I had that kind of money I would buy other things now like first aid stuff.

8 I agree with

9 that is why you don't get into trading food stuffs or open supplies I know convicts that can open a pack of cigs and seal it.

10 this guy reminds me of a crack head flittering here and there listening and talking trying to garnish information

in a world full of liars scammers hookers and killers and be out amongst them??? why listen or trust anyone.

I like being prepared that means I have enough to get through or can substitute something else I have to do the same

if your starting with your standard home with little more than a couple of weeks worth of supplies well this is as good as any

information ut every time you step out your laying it on the line and no matter how careful you may be someone will

recognize you and put 2 and 2 together and know where you live and if your a middle man maybe you have something

of value stashed and they rob your place if you do not have other to keep it secure and or they wait for you and #5

on the list kicks in this is for cities not real good for country or suburban living

Many of the people here are related I know many people in fact hundreds so if I think a trade or anything I d will go unnoticed

is pure fantasy and wishful thinking.

it is well know to set up a trade kill you and take your sh*t a sniper with any thing a sling shot a bow whatever if your stunned

they attack and finish you off 49,000 people in mexico have been murdered in the last year so I guess they failed to read and heed this sites information if you want experience of survival go hang out in mexico I have and do now and again.

does that mean anything NO i can get whacked just as well as anyone else it's the luck of the draw.

This person seems like he has some inside information well if your a yard egg and got to roam the streets to make it

and did not get killed I guess he thinks he is golden well I think he needs to join a church and thank God he is not

worm food.

in a bad situation if you go out you get robbed if you stay in you have supplies if you trade you have extra or you know

someone who does it's a no win situation if you cook it will be smelled if you hunt it will be found out as people will be

like this guy looking in every nook and cranny for hidden goods like bums used to check phone booths for change.

they will be door shaking checking to see if some one is home if you open a door they see in.if you do not answer

they attempt to break in if a woman answers they may get threatening or aggressive.

if you have a dog they will kill it and eat it or poison it and wait till your gone or harass you until you make a mistake

a pea shooter against a window shooting gravel start a fire against the building your in the bed of nails the saran wrap trap

naked woman or child gig a hundred others poison snake in a sack fake blood / victim, drunk with half a bottle used by wino's

guy thinks he is going to roll him and gets rolled. pipe in a news paper gun in a sack notice a theme here if you can't see it

you may be getting set up as your anticipating the deal he uses that moment to fool you....

yea i think I will take my own advice and he can keep his.

I liked what he had to say. Basic? Yes, but basic is where preppers need to start. There is usually a point or three that all of us could benefit from reading. As always folks: Learn it, consider whether it makes sense in your situation, and act on it IF YOU FIND IT PRUDENT.

IF YOU FIND IT PRUDENT.

Thats the answer...We can only rebuild with trust..you have to always be carefull even today..I always ask the cashier if it was a $20.00 I gave ? Just to make sure they "dont" forget...

Dealing with people,TRUST your FIRST encounter...Your gut is 99% right..

Always be ready to back out during a trade ..never put the advantage in the "Others" hand...a good deal is where Both get what they want!

You MUST establish "Trust" at some poit or go live in a cave...

JMO..

Wally, thanks for that great link. I spent some time reading it and there were very good points to remember. I saved the link so I can come back to it again.

Out of curiousity, how did you find it?

Someone recommended (OC I think on another thread) the book The Gift of Fear. An excellent study in how to stay alive. All animals have a 'fear' response. The difference is that we humans seem to have trained ourselves out of listening to that warning ..... and so we die.

I don't fear the dead I am doing all my dealing now so I won't have to or a very limited amount later.

to me that is what preparing is about not to have to go begging or do without I am not certain things won't go

wild west and the reason why many a person was done in was due to their want of human companionship

and or to wheel and deal or gamble etc. it is pretty hard to get into trouble at home.

the chezc republic and other European countries have a by what you need mentality I do not think it is good or bad

it is what it is they have their little shopping basket or go out and in their situation in most cases it is perfectly safe

but when emergencies happen they were not or will they be prepared for months of economic strife.

Sicily is a semi example it has had many financial problems but they have been run into the dirt numerous time in history

personally I do not want to experience that kind of poverty nor have to be running around like a crackhead with head twitching

around like a paranoid bird history shows during the rendezvous of the mountain men and harvest feasts etc is when violence

occurs helped by alcohol and now drugs will be there too.

People do not like each other how is that so hard to accept either they do not like your looks manner color religion or your wife

or want your wife or hate your kids if there is nothing they will make a reason so the less you have to deal with them the better

I have seen a knife fight a bad or good one depends on how you look at it but these azzholes started bragging on their dogs

then started bad mouthing each others dogs then knifes came out then a lot of cutting and cussing over some insult to a family

member that there were bred to the dog or that they looked like a dog well it went south from there I had a good time

until it got broke up and we had to go home it always has to ruin a good time stitches were had and liquor was drunk before

and after.

I have seen people shot over quarters on a pool table a friend of mine was killed over a 5 dollar bet on a pool game by a

ex con stabbed in the back with a pocket knife after he forgave the debt.

look up how many people are on bi-polar mood and depression medications and how will states and towns keep criminals

if like towns in california are going broke.

stock up now and stay at home.

Selco, who is the author of the article in question lived in a city under siege by enemies for a year. He's writing from actual experience and he said right in the beginning of the article "Because differences between regions in the world some things about trading can not apply everywhere". A lot of it might not apply to whatever scenarios you find yourselves in but it's good info that people that aren't aware of the possibility of this being a necessity or even having considered some of the things in his list. Not picking on you juzcallmesnake but your posts are almost unreadable because of a lack of punctuation and decent structure, I don't agree with all of your points but it is just really hard to read your posts and try to piece together what you are saying.
