New publication. Premier issue just out.

Recommended Posts

A new magazine has just come out. It is the American Frontiersman. Have not read all of it yet. But what I have seems to be up the prepper's alley. It is full of back woods information up to and including building a canoe from a log. Check it out.

Okay so started digging around the net a little and found this magazine talked about on a few other forums and iris kinda up in the air where you can grab it. Some folks have had luck at book stores such as Barnes and noble a few at places like target and Kmart. But the one interesting thing I found on a couple of sites is that this magazine is only going to be printed annually. Also if you go to new pioneers Facebook page it shows 75 different magazines they print but American frontiersman is not on their list.

So after all of this it is just a crap shoot. Keep looking different places and you might maybe find it.

9.95

How the hell is one suppose to prep and afford a magazine that costs that much you can buy a #10 can of refried beans that last 25 years for that much

if you cruise the used books stores and online there is plenty of information and PDF's for free online find them print them.

the reason I do not get or buy 99.99% of magazines is they are full of advertizements not a lot real information only after a few years if you keep every one

do you have a useful library of information I would rather just go online and buy the book that gives me the information and not full of advert fluff

I wish they would make magazines like a phone book with enviro friendly and kid safe inks and that way when we have to have a outhouse you can nail it to the wall and wipe you azz with it.

You are 100% correct, as usual. And you have to wad the pages when you tear them out and roll them around in your hands before use. This makes them softer like the old Sears catalog pages. You have all of that information before you.... and you can put all of it behind you in a flash. Kind of expensive paper if you ask me... but, then what do I know. Maybe soon with inflation I can do the same with money with the pres.'s picture on it.

The magazine which I bought has a 2013 date on it and on the inside it states in fine print that it is an annual. The information may be redundant to the experienced woodsmen and hard core old time prepper (survivalist) but it does remind one of what can be done and how and it is more entertaining than a parrot.

I would opt for taking the $9.95 and then surfing wonderful forums like this for information on individuals who actually apply the knowledge and can tell you what works and what does not work. Just IMHO.

we think alike I am waiting for that 1000 dollar bill with O's picture on it and getting change back literally after buying a micky D

kiddie meal ad I think it will be sooner than many can believe.

The ONLY appropriate use for any ersatz currency with Obozo's photo on it is on guns, ammo, or the odd bit of reloading/shooting/survival gear.

Just my not so humble opinion.

"the reason I do not get or buy 99.99% of magazines is they are full of advertizements" I hear ya Snake, I agree, but theres a (sick?) part of me that really enjoys them too they just need to increase actual content with out limiting or increasing ads
