the 80 lb crossbow pistol

Recommended Posts

for years ive been practicing with a mini crossbow pistol , target shooting in my garage, using the 5 pack of arrows that came with them. i broke a few arrows and at a swap meet found packets of twenty arrow and a new string included..ive run through a few strings in the past few years and broken the limbs of a couple of the steel bows only to replace them with my own bow made of heavier gauge steel at about 130 lbs . in my humble opinion, and judging from the damage ive done going through a 12 inch thick box of cardboard and burying the arrows in the outside wall these "Toys" are lethal ..no surprise there the original pistol at the 60 tp 80 lb pull was strong enough..now im building my own arrows for the pistol using thick bamboo skewers fitted with a razor tip broadhead..let me say the result is simply devastating..still i prefer my black powder rifle for big game, its nice to know i can take down something of size with one arrow from my modified crossbow pistol and home made arrows:D

jumbo, i can hit the target from 200 feet.. . its not hard to do once you dial it in, with the sights done correctly. heavier arrows need a little more height to hit accurately, but its a slamming weapon. i embedded one arrow made from a plastic coathanger into a 6 inch block of oak and it went nearly through it, using a field tip point. .. recently ive gone back to the 60 lbr to keep accurate . i kept shooting too high with the heavier version ..had to discern the correct angle for maximum penetration...)-> O
