Recommended Posts

I join this forum to learn,to prepare,to teach,in the event of a crisis, and to let go some steam, once in a while, but I find myself reading about.

Facism,Communism,Oppression,No Rights,Being Monitor,Drones Flying,UFO with cameras,

and I don`t know how many things.

All this reminds me of my National Anthem, and my Oath.

Sup pal? A lot of us here have taken the oath to protect the constitution. If that be the oath you're

implying you took. It's just general discussion is all. Opinions, opinions of transgressions. I'm sure you'll

get interested in one of the topics and as curiosity would have it, you'll join in.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny". -Thomas Jefferson.

There are many facets to this forum. Tons of good info. But as with life you have to dig in the dirt to find gold. I am not trying to be difficult maybe you could rephrase the question.

I put a new flag up on my wall today, you may know it. Yellow background with a snake. I'm thinking about putting it on a pole and walking around 4th of july celebrations. That flag fills me with more pride than our official one now.

readytogo,

for some of us, the weird side tracks are ways of safely venting our feelings. We really do have an eclectic mix of folks on here and some of our topics are, shall we say, 'different'. As long as the site stays family friendly most topics are welcome. There are some I just don't pay much attention to simply because I'm not that interested. Other than checking for suitable content, I leave them alone.

If there are threads that I have missed that have become offensive (as in no longer family friendly) let me know via private mail and I'll look into it. I know we sometimes get on the ragged edge of propriety, occasionally the moderator has to remind us to ease up but except for conspiracy to commit a crime, direct personal attacks (you can think I'm dumb as a post turtle, just be gentle how you say it) or inappropriate material the moderator is kind of laid back - at least he thinks so.

If a thread REALLY goes off topic, we'll start a new thread and return the original thread to its topic. I hope you'll join us and become a part of the group. You would be welcome, but please understand that humor is also a part of survival. Some of us have become pretty good friends and I guess we get 'inside' with our kidding. It is not intended to exclude anyone. Guys like me have pretty healthy egos so they get punctured occasionally. Direct attacks are not welcome but kidding is going to happen. So I hope you'll join in but if you decide this site is not for you, we will miss your inputs.

Just my not so humble opinion.

I agree with you dude. i see alot of fairy tale stuff here and when you try and talk common sense people ignore you and carry on with there fairy tale story. I think its more important to talk about what can happen then what will never happen. Americans will never see facism, Communism Aliens probing us etc etc. We are more likely to see Capitalism like most of Europe. I saw someone quote Thomas jefferson but when was the last time the govt feared the people. Truthfully us Americans are not concern with what our govt does as long as we have our flat screen tv's and can watch Jersey shore we remain happy. When was the last major protest against the our govt? we had major protest against Wallstreet what did that accomplish? nothing! It was just a group of people who were jealous of the rich and thinks they should be rich but yet they wont get off their butts. Im really concerned about this country cause I love it but everyday im reminded that this country is going down the drain. Its going to worse before it gets better. im done venting :)

Friend,

You can find anything you want on this forum. Anything from good information to a good scrap. It just depends what it is that you are looking for. If you do not see anything interesting then pose a question and start a thread. Run it up the flag pole and see if any one salutes. Many times some of what some new people are interested in has already been discussed to death, which causes some to loose interest. There are some of us who are on the forum nearly every day and dealing with this subject day in and day out we have to sometimes do something to break up the serious nature of what is happening in this country, which I assume is one of the reasons that you may be prepping. Take a bite of this and see how it tastes. Let us see what you have to offer. Stepping up?

Hey, Readytogo -

There are in fact some things on this forum that I agree, are not what I signed up for. So do what I do....if I get into a thread that I "don't like", I back out, ignore it, and go to a different thread. If there is no interest in it, it will die out on its own.

If you have a special topic you want to discuss- open a new thread. I'll probably see you there!

Welcome to the forum. I confess to being a tad confused by your post. Having spent some time in Europe and with many friends still there I must confess I don't see capitalism there. Socialism and fascism yes, capitalism, not so much. Fascism, by the way, is defined as private ownership but public control. Government Motors springs immediately to mind. Fascism is a flavor of socialism, so in spite of those who label 'right wingers' as 'fascist' the label is misapplied. Hitler wasn't a 'right winger' or a 'conservative'. In point of fact, Hitler was a National Socialist which, incidentally is what NAZI actually stood for.

I do agree that there are many 'sheeple' who are content with 'bread and circuses' provided by the government but to think that the 'occupy' anywhere group were about better government is to not pay attention. They wanted more free stuff that MY work should pay for. IF you want to return to the founding documents of this country, look at folks like the Tea Party folks. They spend their time and money working (not protesting or tearing down but actually working) toward improving the quality of government. We can disagree on what is the best course of action but I hope we all agree that tearing down the institutions that allowed this country to become strong (things like reaping the reward for your own work) is counter productive.

America is arguably a fascist nation at this point since the government controls what you must buy, how you can run your business and where you can get your health care. The insanity at airports and (in Houston now) the Metro buses is right out of Mein Kampf. If you haven't read it, you should. It is frightening and enlightening. It CAN happen in America and will unless we pay attention.

Maybe I missed the point of your post. I don't own a flat screen and don't watch network programming. I guess I don't get the fairy tale part. Some of us have a poor idea of what TEOTWAWKI may be like but I don't see the caricature of the 'doomsday prepper' that is rampant among the sheeple.

I do agree with you on some points and I to was stationed in germany for 4 yrs and my wife is german and I did travel quit a bit while I was over there. Majority of Europe is Capitalist but they do have Socialist tendencies.

I wasnt meaning Americans in Gereral by my comment Im sorry if I offended anyone I get kinda emotional and go on a rant about stuff that bothers me im sure alot of it didnt make sense. Being over in Germany (Ansbach) for 4yrs I was really shocked by how much things have changed since i was gone and im still trying to get use to it. By the whole flat screen and jersey shore thing, i was just meaning that people put things that dont matter as a first priority. Also the fairy tale comment was towards the people who keep posting stuff about zombie survival and govt conspiracies. I really like this site. Before I joined I found the main page and some youtube videos very educational to stuff im interested in. I just get disappointed when I see stupid stuff on here cause this site is awesome. Again i am sorry if i offended anyone else I was having a bad day. I got chewed out by a higher ranking NCO for something that i couldnt help.

This is a wonderful country,I was not born here,so when I read this somewhat negative about the country

that gave me freedom,it somewhat bothers me,but at the same time gives pride, because we are free to do just that, give our opinion and thoughts openly and without fear.

God bless this country, and lets continue to post our grievances, hell.B)

What I love about this community is the way you can pick and chose what sections you want to read and investigate. Sort of like a Chinese buffet but without the MSG. I think the mods do a great job of keeping the threads on the right "spools" but I think the fact that we are adults here also helps in that endeavor as well. As to rants, well, we all go off from time to time.

For example, I enjoy a good zombie book and write some recommendations over in that section but I am not taking it any more seriously than the rest of you guys. I just find humor in the absurdity of it.
