Camping and wilderness survival

Wasn't sure where to post this so I put it here and under shelters...

One of the books that people have mentioned was the old 'Boy Scout Manual', well when I was at Cabelas yesterday I saw a book that looked interesting..'Shelters, Shacks, and Shanties' by D.C. Beard. He was one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America so I thought I'd give it a look.

He breaks it down into Tomahawk and Axe camps, that is camps you can make with a hawk and those you make with an ax. He includes how to make a chimney for a log cabin, shingles for roofs, and various types of latches for doors. Lots of water color illustrations to show some of the various details as well.

Also has some more complex cabins that require additional tools. Some of the shelters I already knew, a fair amount I didn't...thought this might be of interest to some.
