  1. Capt. I have come to the idea that there should have been a test that had to be passed before people could have kids.....there are entirely too many idiots running around without supervision.

    Ax or machete?

The proper tools coupled with the knowledge of their correct usage will mean the difference between success or failure WTSHTF. Hand tools work long after the fuel or batteries give out. Saws, draw knives, wedges, adzes, brace & bits, etc. should be seriously considered for backing up any power tools you have. The noise factor alone could be important. I would bet most of us have far fewer tools than we would need to go it on our own.
  3. Sorry I don't..... I just copied that part of the news letter.
  4. Then fall back on the old Texas Ranger mantra ....."It's a lot easier to explain to the Grand Jury if only one person is left to be doing the explaining." But the best words out of your mouth are still... I want a lawyer (NOT I need a lawyer) when the LEOs show up.

I think the wasp spray has better distance but haven't checked to see if it is flammable......if it is it would really get ones attention.

    Gray weapon

Ran across this on Facebook ... thought everyone would find it interesting. If you don't have a gun, and even if you do, here's a way to wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat. Wasp Spray -- A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead. The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use. On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could save your life. Val Glinka teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School . For decades, he's suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed. Glinka says, "This is better than anything I can teach them." Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than mace or pepper spray. The cans typically shoot 20 feet; so if someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says "spray the culprit in the eyes". It's a tip he's given to students for decades. It's also one he wants everyone to hear If you're looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. "That's going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out." Maybe even save a life. Please share this with all the people who are precious to your life. Did you also know that wasp spray will kill a snake? And a mouse! It will! Good to know, huh? It will also kill a wasp!!! And best of all, immobilize a human

    More food for thought...

I was listening to one of the conservative radio talk shows when they presented these tidbits of info..... out of wedlock births..... Hispanic 50%+ .... Black 70%+ and poor White 70%+ ..... These are disturbing numbers particularly when the children make the statement that they want a particular case worker when they get old enough to draw. We have already created a monster that will consume us by its self even if the fools in Washington don't pass their "new voter/amnesty law"

  9. I met a fairy who said she would grant me one wish. Immediately I said, “I want to live forever.” “Sorry,” said the fairy, “I’m not allowed to grant eternal life.” “OK,” I said, “Then, I want to die after Congress gets its head out of its ass!” “You crafty bastard,” said the fairy.

  11. I got this in a USCCA news letter and thought it raised several important points. But there is a lot more we can do to tilt the odds in our favor than choices in hardware and ammunition. Most gun owners who are prosecuted do not do themselves any favors because they talk to the police immediately after the shooting incident. This is the worst possible time. You are totally stressed out, your system is raging with adrenalin and other hormones resulting from the stress of being attacked, forced to defend yourself or another person, and the knowledge that you have killed or severely injured another person. If ever there was a time to keep quiet, THIS IS IT! NEVER travel armed without your cell phone. If you are involved in a shooting incident, the very first call to 911 to get aid for the person or persons who were shot should be YOURS. When you make the call, tell the police dispatcher the following. 1. I am (your name). I was just attacked at (give the location). 2. There has been a shooting. 3. We need an officer and an ambulance immediately. After the threat is neutralized, YOU want to be on record as making the first effort to save the other injured person or persons involved. It’s very difficult for a prosecutor to accuse you of malice or evil intent when the first effort to save the bad guy or guys is yours. Give only other information concerning your description, number and description of other bad guys who have fled the scene, etc. Stay on the line with the 911 operator until the officer arrives. Be sure your weapon is holstered. Do not keep it in your hand, or throw it on the ground where it could be picked up by someone else. Remember, YOU brought it to the scene. YOU are still responsible for keeping it safe from unauthorized use. When the officers arrive, give them your ID and CCW permit. Tell them politely that you will not discuss the shooting. Request your lawyer, and DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ELSE without the benefit of his presence and advice. Say simply that you choose to exercise your rights to have an attorney and to remain silent. Go to Youtube, and do a search on “Don’t talk to the police.” The program is done by a law school professor and a police detective. NOBODY should ever carry a weapon without having seen this program, preferably several times. It is the best presentation out there to keep you out of trouble. I think it runs about 48 minutes. Most real legal damage is done when people talk to the police. If you make no damaging admissions, there is much less reason for a prosecutor to file charges against you in the first place. There is no rush. The incident is not going to go away. Have your attorney present when ANY discussion of the case occurs. Although choice of weaponry or ammunition may have some influence on a prosecutor or jury, it’s usually what comes out of a person’s mouth that causes him more problems than what came out of the barrel of his gun

    N. Korea, Anyone?

Well...any distraction is useful for our fearless leader to slide more of his agenda into place while we focus on stuff we as citizens have no control over. Please keep your focus on what we can bring pressure on and let our military and CIA do what they are good at. Do not be overly concerned by the wack jobs overseas.....just pray for the safe return of our own.
  15. I came across this in my latest copy of Gun Tests http://www.gunreports.com/news/news/73-and-Counting-Manufacturer-Participation-in-LE-Sales-Restriction-Grows_4606-1.html If enough people vote with their dollars, we have a chance of making a change.

Would be good if we had a way to easily bring them to the attention of the moderators. I would assume they could block them.

    Political hysteria verse reality

Check out this youtube video to see just how stupid the politicians are. If they were really interested in reducing the number of people killed they would execute the criminals instead of slapping them of the wrist and returning them to society with a better criminal education (is there such a thing) .... of course they themselves would likely be at the top of most lists of vermin.
  20. Check out the NRA catalog ... you may find what your looking for there.
  21. Have you considered a multi-head propane infrared or commercial infrared propane unit? You could close the fireplace off with a removable cover and plumb a hard line to the edge of the fireplace and set up the propane heater with a flex line and cut-off valve. Looking at some of the outputs available you would need to figure out how much output you would need and go from there. That would allow you to return to using the fireplace when/if you gave out of propane. Personally I like the infrared type propane unit for its high efficiency. Something to keep in mind would be having a way to close off the chimney at the top to keep pests from moving in while you are not using the fireplace.

But JCMS....the ideal is fewer of us to deal with.
  23. Conspiracy theory: Any challenge to conventional wisdom. The elites prefer that their messages, as broadcast by their mainstream media mouthpieces, be blindly accepted without question. Asking questions — even those pointing out the obvious fallacies in the message — is labeled “conspiracy.” In fact, the conspiracy lies in those in the MSM who parrot the message without thought and investigation. Legitimate news source: A control phrase used to bolster the concept that the only “real” news comes from the mainstream media, the propaganda mouthpiece of the 1 percent. Six megacorporations now control 90 percent of what we see and hear on a daily basis. The only true and legitimate news sources are now found on the Internet. For the children: Used as a substitute for what it really means; bad policy or really bad policy. Tyrants and dictators have long cloaked themselves with the faces of children. Higher-form creatures take every effort to protect their young, and humans are no exception. So any policy, no matter how feckless, is accepted if it can be sold as a protector of the children. “For the children” rivals “to keep us safe” as the most dangerous of phrases that result in loss of freedom. Sequestration: President Barack Obama’s plan to avoid responsibility for proposed insignificant cuts to the growth of leviathan government and create another wedge issue in his ongoing class warfare battle. The elected class will do nothing to cut government. Doing so reduces their power and gives them less “playing room” when it comes time to “spread the wealth around” to their cronies and corporate masters. The proposed $1.2 trillion in cuts over 10 years are not cuts as real people understand them, but a reduction in the baseline increases that occur automatically in government. They are completely insignificant, though the 1 percent will use them to create fear of impending doom and gloom. Revenues: A replacement word for taxes that still means confiscation of wealth from producers to the 1 percent for redistribution to the dependent class and corporatist interests. Investments: A control word now used in place of “spending.” It is money transferred to favored pass-through industries that get special incentives and funnel the money back to the war chests of politicians. Quantitative easing: The world’s greatest check kiting scheme, which dwarfs anything Charles Ponzi or Bernie Madoff could have imagined. It is simply currency debasement and destruction and an involuntary transfer of wealth from you, the taxpayers, to a narrow financial elite. It is by far the largest looting in the history of the world. Stimulus: Abstractions and illusions designed to make people think that wealth can be created by printing money and transferring it to the corrupt banking system and other industries and labor unions favored by the 1 percent. It has resulted in an unsustainable stock market bubble that is giving a false sense of recovery when, in fact, the U.S. economy is in dire shape. Freight shipments are at their lowest levels in two years, gasoline prices have risen every day for more than a month and are up more than 50 cents in two months, retailers are projecting the closure of hundreds of stores this year, Wal-Mart sales for the year are a “total disaster,” gross domestic product contracted at an annual rate of .1 percent during the fourth quarter of 2012, the economies of the richest countries contracted in the last quarter and corporate insiders are dumping stocks. Extremist: Anyone who advocates for a smaller, less intrusive government, opposes all policies that are unConstitutional and rejects compromise on Constitutional principles. Minimum wage: Another wedge issue designed to incite the dependent class against the producers. In his State of the Union address, Obama proposed raising the minimum wage from $7.25 to $9, a 24 percent increase. He did so with the implication that it was not a “living wage” and that there are people trying to raise a family on minimum wage. This is a false notion. Minimum-wage jobs are held by young people (mostly), some seniors (who work to stay busy and/or overcome the effects of inflation and artificially low interest rates on their pensions and savings) and people working a second job. In fact, raising the minimum wage would harm each of those segments, as the businesses would eliminate many of those jobs rather than absorb or pass along the wage increases. Increasing the minimum wage would also lead to higher prices on goods and services, thereby eliminating any benefits that might accrue from the additional wages paid to a smaller number of employees. A higher minimum wage coupled with Obamacare mandates in a sagging economy with no jobs for young workers — who currently have an unemployment rate of 23.4 percent (according to phony government data) — is a job killer that will drive even more people to government dependency. Inflation: Inflation is not rising prices. It is an increase in the money supply that devalues the dollars in circulation. As Alan Greenspan said in 1966 (before he sold his soul to the banksters), inflation is a “scheme for the hidden confiscation of wealth.” This is something that probably not one in a million people understands, yet it is an issue that is of utmost importance. Henry Hazlitt wrote in What You Should Know About Inflation: “As the money supply is increased, people have more money to offer for goods. But if the supply of goods doesn’t increase — or increases at a slower pace than the money supply — the prices of goods goes up. Each individual dollar becomes less valuable because there are more dollars available. This leads to more of them being offered for a commodity. A ‘price’ is an exchange ratio between a dollar and a unit of goods. When people have more dollars, they value them less. Goods then rise in price, not because there are fewer goods than before, but rather because there are more dollars available.”

    Vehicle kit

Heavy chevy...69 is a good year. I suggest a couple of additions to your kit...(1) a way to pump up that flat. (2) stabil fuel treatment for your emergency fuel & rotate it every so often as gas can deteriorate over time. Oh yea pick up a head band light as it will help if having to fix it at night....although I hope no-one has that happen to them.
  25. If you have some bumpers/fenders .... they most likely float... so all you would need would be a clip & or ring on the rope....also consider a rope that will float as that would help.
