    top 4 zombpocalypse weapons

The USA have lax gun laws, and guns cause more problems then solve according to statistics. Shawn of the dead was a parody movie also, they kill zombies with old records at one point

    Zombie survival for dummies?

If you can survive without a firearm you can survive anywhere The map includes a war museum for medieval weaponry and old firearms if you can fix them for example ive starting posting the articles here http://thegeeksurvivalguide.com/blog/category/teotwawki/ Ill start work on my Day 1 zombie event post

    Am I the only one?

keep in mind that only one of the guys has any sort of combat training. 99% of the worlds population are tactically retarded and the rest have a chance of panicking anyway

Possible spoilers for anyone who hasn't read the story, it gets a bit smarter in what happens next series. The farm is basically them convincing themselves they aren't in danger, but now its over run they have snapped out of it. keep watching preferably the last few seconds of the second series where you see the view of the area

bladed weapons require training to use, and katanas that are for real combat are so rare its not worth it. A real katana isnt usable one hand for often I imagine especially if you need to decapitate every zombie for it to do anything A mace or war hammer would do wonders since its a low skill weapon and pretty simple for it to work. I dont think a mace would get stuck since it pretty much smashes that area up on impact not penatrating the skill like a knife would have to EDIT While im here this is the plan for the blog, Ill post a map of Day 1, where the infection has just arrived and hasnt been discovered yet. Its now at a hospital and a football stadium after the sick man didnt want to miss his weekend game. I've given the user a home at the top of the map and he has family at the bottom. The idea Im thinking of is I add a poll to each day post with options like: -Military Shoot on sight order in quarantined zone. -Infected spread the virus around without turning -Football game infected spread the virus to opposing side during football fights. Then for the next day I have to add what the user can or cant do on the next day, such as if the hospital is overrun you cant easily call 999 to get aid any more, If the police are backed up then criminals will take advantage etc. The area of London I've chosen has a hospital, a football ground, the Thames river, the queens estate, the imperial military museum and the subway system so there is plenty to work with. Anyone interested? Id like to make this sort of a ongoing weekly game.

    Zombie survival for dummies?

yea this list is for slow headshot to kill zombies, ill make it more obvious at the start. infected is what i call the 28 weeks later group, they aren't really zombies, just crazy. ill cover those in a separate area. did I miss any obvious choices too? I might add a machete too since they wouldn't be easy to use in this case

that sounds perfect for the virus articles. Thanks! Ive made a draft/ bad grammar and no spell checking "5 weapons to get you killed" article if you all can check it out and comment on any incorrect logic. http://thegeeksurvivalguide.com/blog/testing-2/ im arguing that those weapons are a bad choice against slow headshot to kill zombies, the M60 would be fine for the infected

Im in England so firearms are pretty much a horrible choice so... A mace, a hunting crossbow, a crowbar. Id have a large survival knife which I wouldn't use for combat, blunt weapons would beat any stabbing or slashing weapon for the slow zombie type

    Zombie survival for dummies?

Agreed, but the infected will spread much faster and be highly lethal in the first few months since people will get infected quickly at first then when it quiets down they leave the shelter and manage to bump into one of the few infected still around I figure these points are the key infection areas on the first week. Airports/ports: if it came from abroad this is where the spreading starts Hospitals/clinics: after a few cases they will get sent here or get brought in as "sick" Schools: if a kid gets infected he will spread it to all of the other kids at break time easily Then day 2/3 Supermarkets and shops: everyone will panic buy so the sick will go to these stores too ignoring that they could be infected themselves. I figure by day 5 its spread over the country and is working its way around all major cities. by day 14 its spread to the country, as people flee cities and hide out in villages. after then I figure its just a matter of time for the zombies to have taken over and all unprepared or unskilled to start dying out from starvation Oh and this is my draft blog article, http://thegeeksurvivalguide.com/blog/testing-2/ Did i make any major logic errors on that one? I haven't done any proof reading yet since its just a draft so no spelling correction please

    Zombie survival for dummies?

I'm going to split the blog area up into different scifi outbreaks, so: Zombies: max brooks lore zombies, slow, senosry enhanced can walk underwater zombies. a virus thats highly infectious, potentially by any blood splatter too to make it a little more lethal Infected: 28 weeks later, basically a rabies virus mutuation resulting in out of control aggressive humans, although I predict these have a very short life span of a few weeks before they die out sincethey are still human just out of control Aliens: War of the world themed Virus epidemic: basically a lethal virus transmitted by touch like the film contagion. First im working on zombies, ive drafted a basic 5 weapons that get you should pick up if you want to join the zombie horde sooner (using a car as a battering ram,LMG's like a M60, chainsaws, katanas and fire if you have anymore common movie bad choices) Next ill do some maths and create a infection model, basically how many days you have after an outbreak before the local shop will be overrun and so on. Also I have a theory that you could use plastic to create a sort of shoddy body armour for your arms, legs and shoulders such as the 1000s of recycling bins I have on my street right now, could a zombie bite through that easily? I was looking at what common weather resistant materials I can grab in a hurry and they are the first thing I noticed. although its a tiny sub part of my blog with the rest focusing on real life general lifestyle improvements Im enjoying working on this

    Zombie survival for dummies?

Hey guys, I just signed up today, didn't even realise this section existed so never registered. Basically I'm working on a blog for "geeks" and other groups that usually love a good zombie film and I'm trying to put together a basic "how to survive" guide for different scifi based WTSHTF events with the first been the zombie infection. I'm focusing on urban survival, what areas will be most likely heavily infested, what items are worth looting and longer term survival. I want to avoid weapons since different countries ( I'm from the UK) have different laws so fire arms are pretty uncommon over here while in the US they would be a much bigger focus. Although I might add Crossbow building plans I want to focus on the basic survival skills and "how not to die" I figured I would start with a 7 day spread map, based off logic like the injured and sick get moved to hospitals, people will rush supermarkets and airports are most likely the first major infection area and so on. Then I would move onto basic gear that you should have prepped before the SHTF event that would be near impossible to find after such as decent tools, camping gear etc Does anyone have any reading material or direct suggestions for me to start putting a few posts together?
