  1. You can try buying it online. Walmart.com or Samsclub.com

I didn't know wal-mart was carrying Augasons but I've been getting #10 cans and 5gal pails from

Sams online. The dried veggies aren't bad. Soak them in some water to reconstitute them. I'd gotten

some buckets of taters, sliced and shredded; and peppers and onions. Be a great add to about anything

one would prepare especially making omlets from the powdered eggs.

The potatoe soup is pretty darned good. I could just imagine adding rabbit or squirell

to it. I did get some of the Wise TVP meats but have not tried it. I believe I'm going to stick to

getting canned meat and storing it. I don't like to rotate stuff. Easier for me that way and I'd forget my

arse if it wasn't stuck to the bottom of my back.

  2. Found this also..

    Bounty on RATS...

City leaders acknowledge the problem and are trying to come up with a solution like more secure garbage cans and educating the public on how to keep the rats at bay. However, the proposal that has everyone talking is a rat bounty -- $5 for each dead rat a homeowner turns in.

"When we first heard it, it was like oh come on. Really? A bounty. But then we talked about it some more. We said if it does help us find out where the issues are, it may be something worth considering. We know we're not going to trap our way out of rats being in existence," said Acting City Manager Mike Smith.

The thought is track where the rats are coming from and you have a better chance of fighting the problem. Homeowners would have to agree to allow inspectors onto their properties so they can bait the area -- outside of the box thinking that has some people shaking their heads.

"The bounty for the rats I think is kind of ridiculous," said Hawkins. "$5 a rat, I could've gotten $55 this summer. That's $55 they could've put towards solving the problem."

If you have a problem with a rodent/RATS...why are you asking for help from the CITY???

    DA AH

    LMAO

Hay! Hey! Hey!! Hold on here! Sumbeaches......

  3. Sounds good. It'd suprise you what I have in my truck tool box. Sounds like you're getting there.

If you're keeping things in the back of the truck, if I may, I'd suggest making it look as though

you're taking off the trash. The bed covers/shells are easy to get into.

  4. I agree with most of the commandments, but why do you have to take that blind leap of faith and believe in an invisible God?

I can follow all of the commandments without believing in God, solely based on my morality, without faith in God

This is where moral values meet religious belief. You have your belief.

Its your choice. I have mine. My choice. I believe in heaven and hell.

An afterlife. If you read John ch. 3 Jesus explains to Nicodemus that no man will enter into heaven on just works unless he accepts GOD through JESUS who died for our sin.

This country is free, and you are of freewill to choose. You are not made to believe in just one religion.

So if you keep some of GODS commandments, I'll say you do have some high moral values.

May peace fill all of your hearts this Christmas season.

  5. Well I do consider myself to be agnostic, as I don't see enough proof of existence for a tri-omni Judeo-Christian God, or enough proof to disprove God's existence. But, I do study arguments for both sides religiously (pun intended)

Also, I see mass religion as a way to control society (through guilt) as a means to keep society civilized. I see the need for religion in that aspect. And I without a doubt, believe that there are some people out there that NEED and SHOULD have faith in a supreme power. The idea of God does indeed save some people, but is not the only means of being moral and happy..

So here's a question for you, since you said it yourself, evil is prevalent right now in the world, everywhere, that's undeniable and any reasonable person can recognize this.

How does evil even exist in light of God?

If God knows about this evil, and won't stop it, God isn't as morally good as you think. If God knows about it, but CAN'T do anything about it, God isn't all powerful, lastly, if God just plain out doesn't notice the evil, God does not know everything.

But, evil still exists, so either God isn't all knowing, all powerful, or all knowing. Or he never existed.

It's an old argument, but there you go.

So assuming that God never existed and evil has always been around, but is getting worse now, perhaps I can shed some light on things that are influencing evil acts today, yesterday, and tomorrow.

Modern video games, modern movies, role models acting out (celebs), the music industry promoting gangs and violence, the increase in people born with mental disabilities, the increase in psychology and doctors diagnosing EVERYONE with something, the idea that there has to be something wrong with YOU, in terms of mental health. Hell it could even be the sodium fluoride, and other known toxins they treat tap water with, human studies show there are numerous health issues associated with this stuff. [1] Maybe it's the highly poisonous aspartame in most of our sodas, cereals, and other store-shelf foods that are causing moral compasses, as a society to re-wire, or to self destruct entirely.

The human spirit is a powerful thing.

The following is a solution for evil and God co-existing at the same time. Perhaps this can answer your question.

God created us to spread his love, and He is only worthy of the best kind of love, love that is chosen freely not forced. God knew this, so during the creation of all of us, God HAD to give us freewill to receive the best type of love, love by personal choice. So, perhaps evil is just a misuse of the human free-will God lovingly gave us. Perhaps evil is spawned from a lack of God. I don't think there's enough evidence on either side.

In summary, I don't feel that it's safe to say that the lack of God causes this evil. But rather, I look at what we can know for sure which is these evil acts are promoted in all media outlets in society as we know it, and that these messages spread like fire.

Oh dear me....Agnostic? A person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena.

The single most important thing that the civilized humanbeing has ever learned to do is write. Be it by a drawing or some form of recording something. Without the

ability to record anything there'd be no history, or advancement of civilization(s) or mankind for that matter.

By the roadmap of Christianity, the Bible, we are taught to walk by FAITH. With no physical evidence of GOD. Only the teachings of Prophets and Jesus Christ

whom "I" am not worthy. So whatever your religion is, I'd like to ask you a question if I may? If we all taught these teachings and instilled in our children

the "golden rule". ( Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you ) and follow these Ten Commandments, how could there be room for the evil that exsits today?

Anywhere? I fear no man, but I do fear the wrath of GOD.

    1. Thou shalt not have any other gods besides me

    2. Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven image

    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain

    4. Remember to keep holy the sabbath day

    5. Honour thy father and mother

    6. Thou shalt not kill.

    7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8. Thou shalt not steal.

    9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.

If we all followed these Commandments and the teachings of the Bible how could there be room for the evil that exists?

Granted, this country was built by imigrants. We are a very diverse scociety. The Mother of Exiles asked for us all! If you want to live free, come!

She offered, freedom of speech, religion, taxation without representation, ect. The freedom to make a choice. Whatever the choice you make, YOU make it.

You being educated should know the story behind the Revolution and why/what made these Freedoms possible.

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

  6. Until we are willing to look at the culture that enables such evil (yes evil, NOT sick, misunderstood, troubled or otherwise mistreated - this action was EVIL) there is no hope that we can resolve the issues that threaten not just our children's lives but our very integrity as a nation.

Oh I agree with all of what you said Capt. 100% The general upbringing of childern has suffered over the years. Punishment of children growing up has gone by the wayside. You can't spank a child around here with out having

social services on you. [i've no need of doing that anymore and haven't for years.] To instill some moral fiber back into the population begins with the way we're raised. The scocial values/morals aren't there anymore. The old

saying, "spare the rod, spoil the child" has a meaning. To do wrong with no ramifications? Then we get older and then what?

That old saying came from the book of Proverbs:

Proverbs 23:13, 14 - Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell.

Proverbs 22:15 - Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

Proverbs 29:15 - The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother

My mom and dad loved me enough to take a belt, a switch, or their hand to my butt when I didn't do what I was told. It's not much of a guidance system when you're put in time out, grounded or have a cell phone removed from you.

I'd get my arse blistered for doing something I was told not to do. IE; Son! Put down my pocket knife, you'll have one someday. Of course next thing I'd have it open and get my butt fanned good. Next time he told me to put it down,

I put it down! I'd get my butt wore out and go off crying saying, dads mad at me. I'd get this talk: I didn't spank you because I'm mad, I spanked you because I LOVE YOU and you didn't do what I asked you to do "twice".

It's a learning process. From the womb to the tomb. By no means am I perfect, no one is. I'm an ornery old curmudgeon but I stand on my Christian belief and teaching of the Bible. This way of life is being disolved slowly in the U.S.

The system has removed GOD from prayer in schools, you can't say the Pledge of Allegience because of the phrase for "one nation under GOD". I remember when I was in school we even began the day with the Lords Prayer in grade school,

that was a long, long time ago. That doesn't happen because it's offensive to the children and their parents, gimme a break..If it's offensive to mention GOD and Jesus Christ, then I'm just offensive! Where's "In GOD we trust"? This nation was

founded on GOD, Freedom, and Equality. The system has the FREEDOM to do as they wish? Open free trade so our jobs go overseas so there's EQUALITY worldwide? No mention of GOD in schools. Now we reap what has been sewn.

The more GOD is being removed from our daily lives/life, there's only room left for EVILS presence.......

This also is my, not so humble opinion.

    peace,

    dr

  7. wow desert rat, that link was good. I had no idea how many there were in China with knives and swords

I'd almost believe that's where the knives and swords originated at least firecrackers. lol

Well, accross the top it said stabbings, cleaver, [i assume meat cleaver] and hammers. They believe all these disturbing events are being caused by

rapid social change. hmmm mental illness?

  8. Well said desert rat.......................don't give them the fame....................

And if guns kill people I would have never made it out alive from the gunshow this weekend.

Israel had it right, arm and train the teachers and watch the years go by uneventful.

On health issues....................find a cure for bipolar and you'd probably clear half the jail cells.

Well, that's exactly what I'm saying t2940. We never hear of an armed robbery or mass killing at a gun show now do we? lmao

Make it mandatory that every U.S. citizen own, learn how to use and store a gun.

Yet they think if there are no guns there'll be no killing. BS!! Someone in China killed a bunch with a fricking knife or sword.

It's a gosh darned mental imbalance! Again, guns don't kill people, people kill people.

    Look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_attacks_in_China_(2010%E2%80%932011)

  9. Well, my 2 cents isn't worth a flip but again I'm going to blame the news media. There's to much news! If it's a breaking story they fill in the blanks with

their imagination instead/speculation of facts. 98% of the population is going to watch news. This comment below was "supposedly" made by a very intuitive film star and I agree with what was said

    or whoever said it.:::

The remark floating around online that was said to have stated the following, "You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why. It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single victim of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody."

Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations*, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next. You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem."

  10. what no touch pad notebooks for finger painting no wonder our children are ranked 26th in the world LMAO

Aww come on snake. That's progress. When you and me were in school we were still drawing on cave walls. LMAO

I've have a small solar light I picked up to get in and out of a shed. Picked it up at Lowes quite a few yrs ago probably 8yrs at least. Still working.

Has a timer for 2,5,10 mins.

LED flashlights makes a flashlight that's rechargeable from a solar panel by USB port. I think it's about 220 lumens.

That's pretty darn bright. I have several of the LED Lenser AAA powered tacticals and they are tough.

  11. I think that was the dumbist comment Bob Costas could have made, he's an idiot. Where he said, if he didn't have access

to a gun we'd have two live people or something to that effect. Even if their were no guns I'm sure he'd have one making

that much money. When there's no guns, only outlaws will have guns.

Now I'm gonna have to go and find it. Here's the link it's only a couple of minutes:
