Red Rock sling pack (first impressions)

Its a full size 1911 and two mags should fit no problem. My bag is olive drab and hasn't attracted undue attention. I've only had friends comment that they like it and one tourist type kid freak when my gun was showing(which is perfectly legal where I was hiking in Montana and no one else had blinked all day). I had been fiddling with the gun which is wby it was even visible at all. The bag does a great job of holding and hiding it. Otherwise itdoesn't seem to attract attention.

I have one. I've been using it for day hikes for about a year. You really can't put a camelbak bladder in it, unless you are willing to leave it unzipped. It is not very big but it fits a lot of stuff. I've had 2 water bottles, a small survival kit, and a collapsible bowl for the dog in mine besides having my 1911 in the conceal carry pocket. You could use it as a get home bag I think.

    Otis gun cleaning kit

Ok thanks guys, I'll add it to my list of things that I should get after I have the basics.

    Otis gun cleaning kit

Does anyone have one? Do you love it/hate it? Why? I've been lusting after one but I can't decide if its really worth the money especially since I have a bore snake that works in all of my rifles and a regular cleaning kit. I admit part of the appeal of the Otis kit is that its all awesome looking. Oh its small too so it could easily live in my BOB when not being used.

    What's in your vehicle?

I haven't found a way around the freezing, but the botttled water you can buy at Costco seems to hold up pretty well. I haven't had any break but I try to put new bottles in every month or so and use the ones that have been freeezing and thawing. Since a case of the bottled water is $4 I'm not out much if one does break. Its probably not the most ideal solution but its the best I could come up with, there are days I would forget my head if it wasn't firmly attached to my body, so no way I would remember to put in water everyday and grab it back out of the car every night.

Fear not, I actually have enough guns to make most men green with envy. I just never bought a single one. Dad didn't know what to do with a girl so he treated me like the boys. Haha!

Thanks Rebel I noticed that it was not true after I posted. Still a scary thing to think about. I'm safe in that nothing is in my name, I never had any guns or food. Hell I can barely cook

Mostly my mom,(her and 2 of my 4 brothers are practicing LDS) has been buying stuff from the canneries for years. Same with my oldest brother. So if they ever end up getting names Mom will be on it.

Well my family is screwed if the LDS cannery thing is true.

Ok the food thing isn't written into it, it was an argument against The National Defense Authorization Act. For all the good it did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbvift3Kb34&feature=player_embedded

Isn't that close to what one of the bills that is supposed to pass/ may have already passed does. Something like having over 7 days supply of food could get an American citizen detained at Guantanamo Bay indefinitely... Off to find the link about it.

    in a bug out situation.......

I do a lot of reading, not much talking, but I could actually respond more. I'll get on that. If the rifle or fishing pole is my only way of getting meat at all I am positive I want a rifle, give me read meat over fish any day of the week!

Rifle hands down for me ( a lady (ha!) if that matters). I'm a terrible fisher. I'm bugging out from a landlocked state to another landlocked semi arid state.
