    M193 Range Fodder Recipes

Starting load is the starting point(low #) and then you work up the load scale by.2-.5 grains till you get to the max, assuming that you don't have any bad pressure signs. It wouldn't hurt to read manual again, just to be safe. http://www.exteriorballistics.com/reloadbasics/index.cfm

    Anybody shoot IDPA?

And don't forget the collar shirts with all the logo's, that shaves -5sec off overall score:rolleyes:

    Anybody shoot IDPA?

I would say half the matches I've been to were "outlaw" matches and as long as you followed main rules they didn't care about cover garment and a couple nit-picky rules--but then again been to one where they hit a guy with a deduction for putting too many rounds into target(forced reload there instead of in hallway out in open). Couldn't hurt to call the one your planning on shooting and asking.

    Anybody shoot IDPA?

We got any IDPA shooters here? Heres some awesomeness for those who don't know Its a fast paced gun competition, that puts shooters in challenging realistic-ish live fire game that test skills and shows where improvment in needed. A walkthrough guide vid unlike static line shooting it gets you movin and thinkin on your feet. Not to mention a good test of gear! Can't tell you how many people come it to shoot swearing by a (EDC)gun and leave swearing at the gun. It also teaches utilization of cover and enviroment(they count off points if over 1/2 of body is exposed to oncomming(imaginary) fire from moving targets...Its alot of FUN!! short vid Heres offical site http://www.idpa.com/

  8. I was wondering how many people here with firearms are trained (even if just most basic training..NOT YOUTUBE!)how to better utilize that weapon? There are many firearms classes in every state, many at your own range. I strongly advise people to take classes even if they have prev. firearms exp. just because its very easy to fall in bad habits and not even realize it. Be sure to take lessons from a certified NRA instructor(means their insu/cert/worth/etc.). Im not getting at any political agenda. Nor am I saying guns over physical fighting styles (I go to two of them every week too) Just sayin between two guys with guns, one trained and the other not..Training helps your odds in that horrible situation. Makin it home, is last job of the day. If need help finding classes (esp. in south) speak up. Be safe!

    free reloading manual

Wow, didn't know there was a reloadin sec. Here is a really cool site with the Sierra Reloading manual (without powder charges) http://www.exteriorballistics.com/reloadbasics/index.cfm Relax read all that, then go to Hodgdons reloading Data center(other companies as well) and email yourself the data http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp Be safe and always work up your load..

    WHich Concealed Carry Holster

Id stay away from the shoulder holsters for EDC CCW carry, hell even some training class wont allow em. A IWB that is comfy, with stiff ret., but allows easy pull. I Would suggest a Hybrid holster(look em up), and a CCW class. I use a DSG alpha for OWB in IDPA, IWB as an EDC, and their supose to have a molle attchment out shortly. Not best (try blade tec/comp tac) but good alla-round holster. BUT my main holster is a 10$ IWB pancake retention style cheapo(looks like two pieces of material stuck to clip), that has been great. Half of a good holster set up is a good belt(good leather belts dont make good gun belts) 1 3/4 wilderness Frequent Flyer (most casual riggers belt) belt is what I use, if I adjust it to be there It stays..http://www.thewilderness.com/storepinnacle/index.php?p=home

    Scavenger hunt/Survival

Was thinking out side of the box in the spirit of the game. You need tinder/accelerant to get wood burning, pork rinds/cheetos/etc is an/a accelerant and I sure as hell am not eating that sh!t. As far as the water, I've been on week long hunting trips and we never bring water. Just boil water we find. People that carry more than a couple of liters are too worried and inexperienced. Do a couple of minimalist camping trips, with little food and no water. I bet youll suprise youself..Esp how little water can get by on if have too.

    Bear Grylls

My thing is the way Bear "scales" through the forrest jumping off rocks (ya know snakes love to lay under them and logs)leaping around like an moron. In survival sit. the last thing you need is sprained ankle/broke leg. Not to mention waisting all that energy running around sweating...Oh ya and I'm Irish, So that lilly Brit can get stuffed. My .02
