  1. Hopefully that has all been fixed now. Send me a message if this is still happening. Thanks.
  2. Email us at scforumteam@gmail.com and put in the subject line "Signup Help." Let us know your username so we can find your account and activate it. Honestly do it early before you get frustrated and we can help expedite things. Update 6/14/13: I have a waiting queue of 24,000 + new signups waiting for approval to start posting. 98% of them are spambots. Some of them are easy to weed out, alot of them are not. Unfortunately I can't always tell who's who and sometimes end up approving spambots and disapproving real people who want to join the community. Myself and the rest of the community want to get as many real people to join this community as we can. Send an email to scforumteam@gmail.com and let us know that you are a real person and want to join our conversations. I'll be happy to approve you ASAP. Thanks,
  3. If you get a chance, check out some of the SurvivalCache/Forge Survival Supply Team in "Apocalypse 101" this week on the National Geographic Channel. The first episode will be this showing Tuesday March 12th at 10 pm ET right after Doomsday Preppers. You can get a closer look at the faces on this side of the keyboard. Link below: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/apocalypse-101/ Thanks!
  4. Ha! I almost deleted that test post. Glad I didn't... :-)
  5. Good Resource to Reference... http://www.google.org/publicalerts
  6. In order to post a picture on the forum you need to have it hosted online on a web server. There are several free ones out there, these are a few of the better ones. Hunt101 Photobucket UpitAll All of them are free and for the most part you register an account just like you do to join a forum. Most will also give you the necessary url and encoding to post your pictures in your post. Once you have uploaded your pictures and copied the url for the picture you are ready to post it in your thread. There are three ways to do this. 1) If your photo hosting site gives you a link to paste that has the proper tags you can just paste it in to your post. It should look something like this: but without the spaces. 2) If you have the url for the picture you can manually add the necessary tags yourself. simply type after it. It should end up looking like this: Again make sure you do not have spaces between the tags and the url or in the url itself. 3) If you have the url you can click on the little image that looks like mountains and a sun, above the window where you type in your post or reply. This will open a pop-up that asks for the url of your picture. Paste in the url for your image and click ''OK'. With any of these three methods your picture should show up in your post as an image.
  7. With the new software upgrade we are running optimized on smartphones/mobile platforms now too. You can set the page on your phone to be an icon and when you click it's like an SC forums app!
  8. So this is a contest to see who has the best all around bug out bag contents. Feel free to post your contents along with pictures and explanations of the reasons and uses (applications) of each of the items you have in your bug-out-bag. This thread will be devoted to initial entries which will be accepted until December 15, 2011 at that time we will pick 3-10 finalists (depends on me figuring out the functionality of this vBulletin software) and then members will be able to vote on the finalists. Forum members will be able to vote based on the following criteria 1. Quality of images 2. Explanation of contents and use 3. Organization and weight 4. Practicality of overall Bag contents 5. Creativity The winner will receive $300 gift certificate/coupon code to be used at www.forgesurvivalsupply.com with second and third place receiving coupon codes for $150 and $75 respectively. The goal of this contest is to share information and survival reasoning with other readers to help us all better prepare for any situation we may meet. Thank you! 9. I'll try and figure out what's going on. Everything should be gtg now. Have you double checked your settings since the upgrade? You can see what threads you are subscribed to, if they are still there, select them and then click on the drop down menu below and upgrade subscription type.. You may have to resubscribe to the thread(s) and select what type of notifications you want to receive... If you're still subscribed to them and everything here is set correctly, maybe check your spam settings on your email account and make sure they are not going there... Give an update when you get a chance and maybe we can figure it out...
  10. Upgraded to the new Software so hopefully all the functionality is fixed.. let us know if anyone is still having problems. Thanks for bearing with us!
  11. Be careful putting the word (SPAM) in your header... I have been on a seek and destroy and almost had a negligent discharge on your username when I was getting ban happy on the SPAMMERS....
  12. This is a good place for you all to let us know what you like, don't like or would like to share with us about how we are doing or could do things better to make these forums a better experience for you. It's also a great place to let other people know what's going on in the survival and prepper world that we may not already know i.e. the Self Reliance Expo coming up in Denver this September 16-18 (We're planning on being there!) We will do all we can within the limits of our technical expertise, time and finances to provide a great experience and interface. Ultimately this is our community (which means your community) and depends on everyone's input and participation to make it a hub for information and sharing. Thanks to everyone for making Survival Cache a great place on the web to meet and discuss important issues related to survival!
  13. We are working on upgrading the forums and figuring out a better way to deal with spammers. It may be a few weeks before things the forums start looking like they used to because the skin (appearance) coding is not ready for the new software. Thanks for bearing with us in the meantime..
  14. I'll follow up on this and get back to you. Thank you and I apologize for your less than stellar experience.
  15. We apologize for any experiences with Forge Survival Supply that are less than satisfactory. We strive to do our best to fulfill every order as quickly and completely as possible. warrior7r, if you have an order # to go along with your complaint I can follow up with the rest of the team at FSS. Thanks.
  16. If you've read any good books, online articles or know of other resources that may be of interest to everyone else, post them here. Also if you have questions about good resources that may help point you in the right direction to get your bug-out-bag put together, learn about using a map and compass or any other subject matter related to survival, post it here. Also in the modern age there are a number of great videos and other multimedia that is very informative so let's not forget those resources as well. Thanks!
  17. This is a contest to see who has the best all around Every Day Carry (EDC). Feel free to post your contents along with pictures and explanations of the reasons and uses (applications) of each of the items you have as part of your Every Day Carry kit. *Every Day Carry are items that you have with you at all times and fall under 1st line gear. This first phase of the contest will be devoted to the initial entries which will be accepted until March 15, 2012 at that time we will pick at least 10 finalists and then members will be able to vote on these entries. Forum members will be able to vote based on the following criteria 1. Quality of images 2. Explanation of contents and use 3. Organization, size and weight 4. Practicality of overall items 5. Creativity The winner will receive $150 gift certificate/coupon code to be used at www.forgesurvivalsupply.com with second and third place receiving coupon codes for $100 and $75 respectively. The goal of this contest is to share information and survival reasoning with other readers to help us all better prepare for any situation we may meet. Thank you!
